Help Give Hope!

Lilly, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2014, is the most delightful little girl that you will ever meet. After undergoing medical treatment for cancer, Lilly and her family noticed that her vision began to diminish. Her blurry vision began interfering with her ability to do things and the family became very concerned. In 2015, it was confirmed by her doctors that Lilly had lost vision permanently. This was a very traumatic situation for the family.
After contacting the Division of Blind Services and learning about the Center for the Visually Impaired, Lilly’s vibrant and bubbly nature began to resurface once again. She became an active member of the classes, going on all kinds of fun field trips. Recently the students organized a Halloween party and Lilly dressed as a doctor. In past classes, when the students were asked what they want to be when they grow up, Lilly always said that she wants to be a doctor, just like the ones that have helped her. So this Halloween, Dr. Lilly was very happy in her costume. Lilly has recently been given a long cane, whom she has named “tootsie roll”, and she is very enthusiastic about learning how to use her cane. The enthusiasm and passion for life that Lilly has is like a shining light here at the Center for the Visually Impaired. Please remember us in this holiday season and help us to support Lilly in realizing her dreams. We have so many like her who need your help.
